ACNielsen Global Passport

The ability to manage the quality of product information is a growing challenge for manufacturers and retailers. In order to drive costs out of internal systems and the supply chain, establishing and maintaining accurate product information is becoming a basic requirement for conducting business.

ACNielsen applies proven product information management expertise to address this growing need. Our local experience is combined with global expertise to deliver solutions across more than 100 countries - providing solutions within and across target markets.

Internal and External Data Alignment
ACNielsen Global Passport Services are designed to assist companies to create, manage and communicate product information within legacy systems and with trading partners. As the industry moves towards synchronized data exchange, we can help you face the key challenges of both internal and external data alignment - providing outsourced coding, validation and storage of product information.

Enable Global Data Synchronisation
ACNielsen can help you align your internal information sources by understanding the range of user needs within the company and accommodating these needs within a single product information masterfile. We carry out this process across different systems and locations - eliminating overlapping information needs and distinguishing unique information requirements.

Leadership in Global Industry Standards
Data Quality Management is not a one-time effort. Product information needs to be continuously synchronised with trading partners and maintained in accordance with the requirements of emerging and evolving global data standards. ACNielsen is at the forefront of standards development - promoting and ensuring standards compliance.

Global Product Classification
EAN.UCC Global Product Classification provides both manufacturers and retailers with a global standard for classifying product information. This gives trading partners access to a common language for grouping products alongside their own internal or external classification frameworks.

Global Product Classification allows trading partners to communicate more efficiently and accurately throughout their supply chain activities and is a key enabler to the data synchronisation process.

  • Facilitated by the Global Commerce Initiative (GCI) - a global user group comprised of the world’s biggest multi-national manufacturers and retailers
  • Owned by EAN International (GS1)
  • Hosted and managed by ACNielsen as the service provider to the industry

Product Classification Service
ACNielsen ensures that all product information is aligned to the latest version of industry standards. We offer manufacturers and retailers the potential to link the emerging Global Product Classification with their own legacy systems - ensuring that industry standards and in-house category standards can co-exist within the organisation.

Strategic Partners
ACNielsen has partnered with the WWRE for the launch of the WWRE Data Quality Program, enabling retailers and suppliers to achieve the level of data quality necessary to realise a higher return on their investment in data synchronisation.
